DueDateLab builds free, private, evidence-based calculators and guides for the everyday questions of pregnancy and early parenting. We show the math, cite the source, and route anything clinical back to a qualified professional. This page explains who we are, how we work, and where the lines are.

Why DueDateLab exists

Pregnancy and early parenting throw a stream of small quantitative questions at you: when is my due date, how many months is 17 weeks, where does my baby sit on the growth curve, how much sleep does a toddler actually need. Most answers online are buried under ads, gated behind sign-ups, or stated with a confidence the underlying evidence does not support. DueDateLab was built to answer those questions plainly, for free, with the source shown next to the answer so you can check the work yourself.

What we build

The site is a set of focused tools and the reference material around them:

Calculators for due date, period, ovulation, conception, baby growth percentile, sleep needs by age, and weeks-to-months conversion.
A week-by-week pregnancy guide covering fetal development and common symptoms, in a calm, source-anchored voice.
An “Is this normal?” symptom guide that routes pregnancy symptoms to the matching, verified safety guidance rather than trying to diagnose.
Explainer articles on the questions that sit next to the tools, such as implantation bleeding, due date versus conception date, and infant sleep regressions.
Methodology pages that document the exact formula and sources behind each calculator, so a reader or a clinician can verify every result.

How we source medical content

Every medical claim on the site is tied to a primary reference. We source from national public-health bodies (NHS, CDC, WHO), specialty professional bodies (ACOG, AAP, SMFM, NICE), major clinical reference institutions (Mayo Clinic, MedlinePlus, HealthyChildren.org), and peer-reviewed research indexed in PubMed where a specific number needs a primary source. We do not source clinical content from forums, anonymous blogs, or aggregator sites. Where a topic is folklore rather than medicine, such as the Chinese Gender Chart, we say so plainly and cite the study that measured it. Privacy by design

Our calculators run entirely in your browser. The dates and numbers you enter are used to compute a result on your own device and are never sent to a DueDateLab server, never stored in a cookie, and never shared. This is a deliberate design choice for a category where the inputs are personal. Site-wide analytics and any advertising are covered by our privacy policy; the calculators themselves collect no input data.

Medical review and named authorship

DueDateLab content is written, sourced, and reviewed by a small editorial team publishing under a single byline, DueDateLab Editorial. We keep one consistent voice on purpose, and we will not invent named clinician credentials we cannot stand behind. If a licensed clinician reviews a specific page in the future, that clinician will be named on the page they reviewed, with their credentials, and not before. Until then, our credibility rests on transparent sourcing: every clinical statement links to the primary source that supports it, so the claim can be checked against the original rather than taken on trust.

How we are funded

DueDateLab is supported by display advertising and by Amazon Associates affiliate links, through which we may earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. Funding does not influence our editorial decisions. Advertisers and affiliate partners do not see content before publication and have no say in which sources we cite, what claims we make, or what safety guidance we include. Who we are, and who we are not

DueDateLab is an independent project, published from Belgium. It is not a clinic, not a medical provider, and not a substitute for professional care. Our tools produce estimates, and our guides explain what those estimates can and cannot tell you. For any decision that matters to your health or your baby’s, please talk to your doctor, midwife, GP, or maternity unit. Where a topic is safety-critical, our pages signpost the relevant urgent-care route.
